Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is established in 2009 , covering an area of 144km this national park is very close from capital city of Kathamandu in short we called ( SNNP). It covers parts of Kathamandu ,Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok and Dhading Districts of central Nepal and elevation range from 1350m above mean sea level.It is only the protected area that represents flora, funna and ecosytem of Mountain. This is a fresh water source for Kathamandu Valley. Nagmati,Bagmati, Syalmati,Bishnumati, Sangala ,Tusalkhola and their tributaries of Shivapuri Nagarjun- National park are the prime source of drinking water for Kathmandu Valley.Floral diversity is highly in SNNP due to its location ,altitudinal and climatic variations .The park is located in sub-tropical and lower temperate zone of Nepal. It harbors a total of 2,122 plant species.129 species of mushrooms, 50 macro fungi species. There are more then 1250 flowering plants including 16 endemic species . 57 species of medicinal plants and 49 speciens of edible plants are reported.
